Partnering with Cisco

MYPHONES.COM has partnered with Cisco to extend the interoperability of the Cisco 7800 and 8800 handset ranges with hosted telecoms platforms.

The 7811, 7821, 7841, 7861 and 8811, 8841, 8851 and 8861 models have been operational with MyPhones.com’s Altos hosted platform since early 2017, extending the range of high quality, single and multi-line handsets that are fully compatible with the platform.

MyPhones.com has worked with Cisco to deliver secure extension mobility hot-desking capabilities on the Altos platform using these phones.

Businesses can now designate Cisco 7800 and 8800 handsets as virtual phones on their networks, enabling registered users to log on and use the handsets. The handsets automatically adopt the user’s usual phone preferences, such as call forwarding, divert, busy lamp and failover rules, and deliver full access to their personal telephone directories and personal and shared voicemail.

The development is proving popular with MyPhones.com’s reseller partners, who, in the first three months, have already ordered more than 6000 handsets.

MyPhones.com is now adding the Cisco 7832 conference end-point to the list of conference phones that are fully compatible with the Altos platform.

Chief Executive of MyPhones.com, Dr Stuart Marsden said: “Our hosted platforms, including our current platform Altos, were originally designed to operate specifically with Cisco handsets.

“We have extended compatibility with other manufacturers over the years to increase choice for our resellers. Now, almost 15 years on, it feels particularly fitting to be working again with Cisco.

“The Cisco focus on the stability and quality of their firmware is a value that we share.”
